iPhone VPN Client to DIR-330 using L2TP Over IPSec

I have been using iPhone's VPN client (PPTP) to connect to my DIR-330 and it worked flawlessly until my carrier blocked PPTP. So I'm looking into the option of using L2TP over IPSec. I've played around with L2TP over IPSec but have no success to get it connected (using wi-fi to test). I'm wondering if anyone has connect to DIR-330 with L2TP over IPSec successfully with their iPhone or Mac?

If this is not possible, does anyone know other D-Link VPN routers will do?
