DLINK: Not working as it should
« on: October 12, 2009, 04:25:50 PM »

Hello,

I am new to dlink and so far this experience has really sucked.

DIR-825
Hardware Version: B1
Firmware Version: 2.02NA
1 computer wireless with a dwa-552 FW 150
1 computer wired

My 5-7 year old speedstream wired connection works better then the above router. I really don't understand how this can be! My current issue is that about half the web sites that I go to are either inaccessible (white screen) or so slow that its pretty much pointless.

All the firmware is up to date and I called tech support and they went over my configuration and nothing was out of sorts.

Looks like the problem is that dlink is unable to get their firmware to work with their hardware. Well at least that the feeling I got from dlinks tech support.

Pretty sure that I will be taking this back to the store on Tuesday and hopefully switching to linksys.

If any of you have a magic fix then bring it on and I will try it.

Very sad at wasting time

OMG - I had to go back to my speedstream 6520 (2004 technology) in order to be able to post in this forum.

More wood on the fire:

Had been trying to DL a 10gb file from work for the past several days. My useless dir825 was stinking it up at btwn 40kbs and 110kbs. Since I switched to my speedstream 6520 it instantly shot up to 800kbs.

Explain that dlink....
