What file types does the DNS-323 support via UPnP AV?

I can't find a list or any spec sheet on this information on the website or here in the forum.

If you goto dlink.com and goto support for this device under FAQs here is what is listed

Talking about VOB files, will it actually play a whole movie or do I have to play each VOB?  So far it seems to only want to play each one and then I have to choose the next....

It will play the whole VOB file. If the movie is split into multiple vob files that can be an issue.

Awesome, looks like I've got it to work for the most part...

Now if only MKVs worked. ;)

Which beta firmware version does mkv and where can I download it from?

What client you running? Mine is via an xbox360. I don't understand how you've been playing mkv files over a year ago when it's (possibly) still in the pipeline of next fw upgrade. Are you sure it's mkv and what fw ver you running?

I'm playing mkv files from the DNS-323 to a Popcorn Hour A-110 using UPnP AV server on the 323, but some mkv files don't show up on the PCH when browsing the 323, but the same files on a computer running myihome do show up on the PCH and play fine. Would this be a 323 issue? I'm running 1.08b5 fw.

HDX 1000.

your problem isnt the 323, its the 360.

Yes I suspect it is the 360. So may I ask how do the 1080p mkv blu ray rips run on the hdx1000, any lagg, jerkiness etc? Is it smooth framerates? I may just end up getting one to put myself out of this misery. I was hoping for an all-in-one 360 entertainment unit but it hasn't worked out the way I wanted it.

360 will play certain media files off of media card, that it wont play over network.

i havent had any problem with any mkv rips, but the NAS and HDX are on the same router (hard wired).
