I've been using the beta for a while now with no issues.

is /Volume_1/Nas_Prog not 777 already?

It was last mentioned July 2009, and it is now coming up on November. I am guessing not before 2010, but maybe I will be proven wrong.

Personally, I'm hoping they fix a couple of things first.  I'd specifically like to see the anonymous permissions working with passworded accounts again. :)

Agreed. I once gave Jeremy a hard time for being negative and I now have to apologize. dlinks lack of response on this board and the lack of beta's lead me to believe they do not understand the process of a public beta program or a beta forum  such as this. I'm very disappointed in dlink at the moment.

Unfortunately I don't have a release date and the beta firmware is still undergoing testing and updating. We do not ever provide a guaranteed release date of firmware for any products so the firmware will be out and available to the public when it is done with all testing.

I would like to know how the work on NFS support is progressing, and if it will be included in the final release of 1.08.

The frustration is that many (myself included) feel that the entire point of a beta website realeasing beta code is so that the public can participate in in the testing processes.  While I understand the importance of not tossing our every build compiled (though some sites _do_) it seems dlink treats thier public betas as more like release candidates than betas.  We dont see much into the beta path ... and generally have no idea if our opinions are getting a voice.

There are some big bugs in the code that I'm not even certain have been acknowledged yet.

I don't think anyone is looking for a specific release date as we have been promised that before and were woefully mislead by one of your staff already.  I think that the community hovering within the Beta pages is looking for updates, issues that you are experiencing,  possible deal killers or things that are being added or removed to expedite the actual release of the software.  I'm sure that you must at least keep track of these things and rather then treating us all like mushrooms (In the dark and fed on ****) a little tidbit of detail would probably go a long way to show that DLink is not just another faceless company ignoring their user base (as is the current "rumor").

I think this forum is soley for Dlink's benefit to get us to report bugs in the beta, rather than them giving us information about progress. All take and no give. I expect Dlink will close this thread soon too as it's not useful to them.

I agree entirely with the previous 5 posts, and only want to add that I will not be buying any more of dlinks products for my business.
