Lockups potentially fixed!
« on: October 15, 2009, 03:11:20 PM »

The past month and a half or so I started experiencing lockups. I didn't really know what was causing them, the only thing I could see was that the router's lights were all blinking at the same time when the lockups would occur, and that the only way to fix it was to unplug and replug the router. I read around the forums and performed a bunch of troubleshooting steps (unfortunately I had already upgraded to 1.32). Eventually I read about the DNS Relay issue, but that still didn't fix it. I contacted D-Link last night and got a case number. I called them today and eventually had the case escalated to level 3 because the techs didn't know what to do. I spoke to the level 3 tech and he uploaded an unreleased beta firmware of 1.32 which should take care of the issue. I'm gonna monitor the connection issues, hopefully it'll be fixed. Just wanted to let people know that D-Link is looking into issues and slowly fixing them =)

tl;dr: Called dlink about the 655, got to level 3 tech who uploaded an unreleased beta fw of 1.32 that should fix the issues =)

Sincerely,

I would love to, but I don't have it =(

The tech had me enable remote management and he uploaded and upgraded it himself. He didn't give me direct access to it >_<

If you call them up and get escalated to level 3 they should be able to help you in a similar fashion.

I am using the PS3 with the wireless. If I am not playing its fine but when I unplug the hardwired computer an d play it works only when they are both on and connected is when I have the problem.

Oh wow, lots of replies... Mkay, so yes, so far the issue has been fixed. I'm still monitoring very closely the uptime of the device, but so far so good.

As for the version displayed in the router's config, it still reads 1.32NA. The tech that I spoke to (and was logged into the router via remote management) verified that I was running the one he uploaded (I assume he verified this from the date displayed in the firmware's information).

Reboot needed

Your changes have been saved. The router must be rebooted for the changes to take effect. You can reboot now, or you can continue to make other changes and reboot later.
Upload Failed

The uploaded firmware file may not be correct. You may have uploaded a file that is not intended for this device, or the uploaded file may be corrupted.

If the uploaded file is correct, it is possible that the device may be too busy to properly receive it right now. In this case, please try the upload again. It is also possible that you are logged in as a 'user' instead of an 'admin' - only administrators can upload new firmware.

The Gateway will not be reprogrammed.
awesome. gonna love waiting 20mins each time connecting to them.been on phone with them for 5plus hours since buying this router 2 weeks ago.fdsafdsalkjfdsafdsa
