I want to smash this...
« on: October 18, 2009, 08:19:22 PM »

Using Vista home premium.  Had the router working perfectly, then unhooked it a few months back because I didn't required wireless and plugged the internet cable back into the back of the computer.  Now trying to hook the d-link back up.  Uninstalled all firewall potential issues and took down windows firewall.  Put the installation disc in, thought it would be easier.  Says can't connect to internet.  All lights are flashing, everything looks good.  I also can't connect to the router (192.168.0.1).  Ran every network config thing on the PC, says can't fix it.  Now, my laptop, finds the unsecured d-link network perfectly, and the internet works, I can even connect to 192.168....  Only the PC that is physically connected to the router can't access the internet or make router setting changes.  For one fleeting moment, the computer connected to the router, when I tried to secure the network and the router rebooted, it never came back and the internet was gone again.  I'm on hour 3 of this, giving up.

Thanks in advance.....

What was the outcome?  Were you able to reset and start over?
