Port forwarding not working unless it is port 80
« on: October 23, 2009, 12:40:42 PM »

Hi,

Just got a HW rev D2 router running firmware 1.00VG and the only port I can forward is port 80, and the only port I can forward it to is port 80, so I can't, for example, forward port 80 to 22. When I go to Shields Up all the ports that are supposed to be forwarded are listed as open, but they just don't respond. Very strange.

There is no new firmware for the router that I can find.

I even tried using a DMZ to route traffic through, and only port 80 works. I don't think it is my ISP blocking ports. I don't have another router to test with though.

Any ideas?

Well, I have confirmed that it is the DIR-615 - I dug out a DI-624 which I had forgotten was still around and tried that - port forwarding works perfectly, so it would seem to be a firmware problem. Unfortunately I can't get very far with the D-Link support site (I get redirected to http://jdev01:8080, which looks like an internal server to me) so I can't get any official support! :(
