I got my DIR-615 about six months ago (maybe more-- time passes quickly) and everything has been great. But suddenly last week I dsicovered that the personalized secured network I had created when I installed the DIR-615 had disappeared from my available networks list and REPLACED by a unsecured D-Link network option. Same signal strength, same performance, just no security.

Does this problem sounds familiar to anyone? And is there a quick and easy solution to it? I suspect there is-- I think I'm just not brainy enough to realize it. I appreciate any and all help you can give to me regarding this problem. Thanks!

It happened one time after months of use. The router switched to channel 8, the internet and network was really slow and then, it showed the network as unsecured.

I reset the router, then it was back to normal and on channel one. that worked for me, it may not for you.

This also happened to the DIR-615 at my folks house, about 2-months into ownership.

The router lost all settings in their case, everything looked like factory fresh.

A few reviews here and there show this as a seldom occurance.

It happened to me a while ago and it was also the channel 8. connection was horrible on that channel. I manually set it to channel 1 and never had a single problem after then. Great speed and excellent signal.

Bad or failing capacitors? This could cause a reset like you are seeing.. If its out of warranty open it up and check the input filter caps (near the power jack)...
