Xbox 360 uPnP streaming from DNS-323 "No Videos Found"
« on: November 13, 2009, 05:50:33 AM »

Hi All,

First time poster - here is my problem :

I have the DNS-323 with 2 x 1.5Tb Samsung HD154UI EcoGreen F2 Hard Drives installed, called Volume1 and Volume2. These are set up as 2 Standard Drives. uPnP and iTunes server are both enabled in the DNS-323 configuration. The Xbox 360 and DNS-323 are both hard wired via ethernet into my Belkin router. The Xbox 360 sees the DNS-323 as a Device under Video Library, Music Library & Photo Library.

I can stream Music and see all Photos fine on the Xbox 360. However when I select Video Library on the Xbox 360 it sees a folder called All_Videos - a folder which I never created on the DNS-323 - when I access this folder I get the message "No Videos Found". My films are actually in a folder called Movies on the root drive of the DNS-323.

It saw Videoes fine from the DNS323 when I first formatted the drives. I ftp'd a few to the DNS-323 from my Win7 computer. However, when I restarted the DNS-323 and added more videos I got the "No Videos Found". This was the same when I first set up the DNS-323 as RAID1. I thought formatting to 2 x Standard Drives might help but no go. My Win7 laptop and Macbook Pro sees all Video content fine from the DNS-323.

Any ideas/feedback would be most appreciated.

Thanks in advance

S.

On your Xbox after selecting videos goto folders. Does anything show up do you see Movies? Make sure the refresh option on the DNS-323 UPnP AV media server is will successfully refresh also please make sure the videos are folders in your Movies folder you created do not contain special characters such as @ is a common one used. If these characters are used in the folder by any videos or other folders the Xbox will see nothing and not even list the folder available to share because it thinks no supported files are in the folder. What firmware version are you running on the DNS-323?

NMACOG,
I can't even get my Xbox Elite to see my DNS323.  Both are hardwired as well, but the only difference is I'm using a Linksys WRT610N.  Is there something you did at the router?  Are you using any AV software on the DNS to facilitate Xbox streaming?
