PS3...
« on: November 17, 2009, 10:49:52 AM »

Hello there,

Has anyone connected the DNS-323 to the PS3?
Any problems I should be aware of?

I have a lot of movies and pictures I want to access using my network.

Any help is highly appreciated.

Hi Hyphen-Alpha,

I suggest you to use TwonkyMedia Server, it works very nice with my PS3.

Here are the instructions to install the software =  http://wiki.dns323.info/howto:twonkyupnpserver

Also, you can get other solutions from DNS-323 Wiki.

Regards!

or run ps3 media server on one of your pc's
however that defeats the purpose of the ps3 NAS 323, but what do I know

I would seriously look for the beter type of NAS that works with PS3 and can transcode some of the formats that the ps3 wont play

I dont have an answer on where should you go

But the PS3 can't show ID3 info from mp3 files stored on the DNS-323.

...which, for me, renders it useless.

And yet, theres no "official" speak (let alone some actual work to solve this) about it.
