DIR-655 + DGS-1008D = possible?
« on: November 24, 2009, 02:57:17 AM »

I need some extra ports, due to purchase of new equipment.
Therefor I am thinking of purchasing a D-Link switch (DGS-1008D) to work together with my existing D-Link router DIR-655.

Will this work without problems? And how do I need to configure the router en switch in order to get them working properly.

Thanks in advance for your answers.

Yes it is possible and I have the exact same setup. Just take a CAT5e or CAT6 cable and connect one of the ports of Switch to the Router's (DIR-655) LAN ports. Do not connect it to the Internet port. Please refer to documentation to learn about these ports.
