Pb with Shareport 1.10 under Win7 and Dir-685
« on: November 26, 2009, 02:17:03 PM »

Hello,

I have some problem configuring shareport Utility 1.1.0 R1 (SXUPTP 3.3.4.0).

The installation phase is correct but when the utility is launch I got an messsage telling that it can't find any device server on the network.

On an other PC using Windows XP and this version of the utility tell the same but with the 1.15 all is OK.

During the installation, the necessary FW ports are opened correctly, and it does not ok as well even if I desactivate the FW. I tried so many times to install, uninstall, erase registry entries, install, uninstall, ... that I don't know what I can do more.

My router is a DIR-685 under 1.00 firmware version. I tried to upgrade the router to 1.0.5 version, the installation process seems to finish correctly, but the indication of the new firmware stay at 1.00 !

Some of you have an idea ?

Thanks in advance for your help.

I have exactly the same problem with Windows XP SP3, if I use the version that came with the DIR-685. No firewall between the router and PC running SharePort and I cannot see any connection attempts using tcpview or netstat.

I rolled back to an older version of the utility, available as a download from the DIR-655 support site, and that seems to work. However, I cannot share the USB device between different PCs....

Right, I've tried on a WinXP Sp3 PC and got the same result.

On WinXP SP3 the 1.15.9 version works fine, unfortunatly this version is not supported under Windows 7.
