I've got a MAC as well and pretty much from the moment I plugged it in, I've had wireless problems.  I've tried getting the problems worked out at the MAC forums, but NO SUCH LUCK.  A ton of users have difficulty with their macs/wirelessly connected.  My other machines, that are wireless, do not have the same problems as the mac.  I would be more inclined to blame it on the mac wireless adaptor before blaming the router.  This is just based on my experiences/problems with the mac system, I'm not saying that this is causing your troubles, but it at least warrants further investigation.

I finally got so tired of the mac giving me troubles and not being able to get anyone to help me out in the forums, I just gave up on the mac and all I do with it is keep the OS software updated on it.  Pretty much a $1600 paper weight right now.  Hope you get your problem worked out.  If it were me, I would try using the ethernet connection and see if the internet interrupts/disconnections stop.  If they go away, then you know it is probably that notorious wireless adaptor bug/problem that Apple cannot seem to get right.

Hmm I think you're blaming the wrong guy. I have 2 Macs and PCs, my friends have Macs, and none of us had any networking-related problems because of our Mac.s

I started having problems when I bought this router and updated the firmware to this f'ing version.

That's a little like saying, well since I'm not having serious difficulty with my router then you must not be having difficulty with yours either.  Besides I am putting the "well known" MAC wireless connection problems out there as a "POSSIBLE" cause of her problems.

The truth is, I do have plenty of troubles with my wireless connections with my MAC, and so do thousands of others (probably 10's of thousands).  Just look at their forums.

All the original poster has to do is plug into her ethernet adaptor and see if her connection problems go away.  I would be willing to bet that they do.

Have two macbook pro's running just fine here wirelessly, granted they connect to the airport extreme via the 5ghz radio, and they work fine along with the other macs at work on our Cisco based wifi network. So before we start down the computer is the issue, lets hit the basics, like do you have a cordless phone(s) in your house? Are you in an apartment? We are looking to see if you or someone around you has a 2.4ghz coreless phone. What about other access points? How about downloading istumbler (for the mac) and looking at the wifi networks around you? If there are other access points using the same channel as you are try a different channel (1, 6 or 11 only). Also to make troubleshooting easier I would reset the 655 to stock config, no security settings yet. Then get work on getting the cleanest channel set, then add the security (wpa2 only if possible) etc. Baby steps.

Oh and one more thing, after you reset to stock, in the wireless settings, set the channel width to 20mhz only. then test.

Ah, well before you spend the money on a new router, you could try some of the firmware in the beta forum, can't hurt at this point...

He buddy, not trying to flame you or anything.... but I do think the DIR-655 has trouble keeping up with wireless N connections. I installed the beta 1.32 firmware and all seemed well until last night. The router was frozen solid. No wireless, no nothing. I have two PC's hooked up wireless (1 wireless G, 1 wireless N), one wired MAC and wired PC. Looking at the logs, the POS constantly reboots the wireless connection. It seems to happen even when there is nobody even touching the wireless PC's. The reboots seemed a harmless enough kludge until this morning the flipping thing would not even work.
Before the updated firmware was loaded, the POS would freeze every 4-8 hrs. This time it lasted 3 days. Better, but not what I would call functional.

Too bad as the 133 beta firmware seems to be solving a lot of issues.
