Can't Save New Schedule
« on: December 07, 2009, 09:50:58 PM »

To create a new access control policy, the DIR-655 forces one to first change over to "TOOLS" to create a new schedule (why???). When I create and save a new rule I'm informed that the 655 must reboot... but after the restart there's no sign of the new schedule.
I'm aware the the 655 is unable to save rules that run across midnight (why????), but no matter what start and stop times I pick... nothing is there after reboot.
I did once create a schedule, but that was perhaps two years or so ago. Now I'm not even able to save an edit to that existing rule.
Anyone have some idea on what gives?
I'm using the apparently infamous FW 1.32NA... could that be the problem?

Big thanks in advance to anyone who can help me with this very frustrating issue.

What are you trying to have a schedule for?

Wireless or access control.

You say 1.32 firmware so is that the latest beta or 1.32NA from July.
I don't have any problems with schedules and I have 132b09NA firmware.

It's to create an access control policy under the "Access Control" tab in the "Advanced" section. To use a schedule here, you have to first create that schedule in the "Schedule" tab of the "Tools" section.
And it's in the later phase that any changes I make are lost after the 655 is rebooted.
I've recently upgraded to Windows 7....Although I didn't have any issues with Vista, is it possible that it's some strange O/S "permissions" issue?

BTW, the firmware is the July release of 1.32... not one of the subsequent beta releases.

I have Windows 7 pro so it is not an OS issue.
The router does not ask to be rebooted in the access control section unless you have not rebooted after creating the schedule (clicked reboot later).

I tested again and everything worked perfectly.
Here is my sequence:

Went to tools > schedule and created a policy

REBOOTED router

went to access control > created a policy and selected the schedule I just created in the previous step

done

Thanks for your reply Cobra,
Yes, it's after saving a new schedule that the 655 must be rebooted. My issue is that after rebooting there is no sign of the new schedule with which I can then create a new access policy. All the created schedules should be listed in tools/schedules (and also at the relevant point in the access policy creation process). But my 655 is simply not able to save new schedules... or save edits to old ones. I'm sure this must work for most people, but it does not for me.
Anybody have an idea of what might be happening?

I wonder if something is off from upgrading the firmware.

You may want to reflash your current firmware or upgrade to the beta which fixes the DNS relay issue.

Here are the directories for 655 ---> DIR 655
