Supported Hard drives
« on: December 08, 2009, 01:04:16 PM »

I have read the sticky (last updated in June)
I have checked out the Beta firmware forum.

I can not find the drives I'm interested in as okay for use in the DNS-323.

I can obtain 2 - 1TB Western Digital Caviar Black HDD (WD1001FALS).  Hope to run them as RAID 1 configuration, but can not find out if they will work in the DNS-323.

Is there anywhere else I can look?

TIA.

I'd be somewhat surprised if those didn't work, but obviously that's not 100% certain. :)  I picked up my 1.5TB Samsung model HD154UI disks that didn't appear on the compatibility list, and they worked just fine.

There really should not be a drive that does not work I don't know of any right now and if there is one please let it be know and we can work to make all drives working on this device. However 1.08 Beta firmware is required for 2TB drives.

To all that replied, thank you. Your answers are appreciated.

@ppeltier:  Are you running the two as RAID1?  Anything to watch out for when I set them up that way?

Are you running 2 of them in Raid 1 Configuration?
