Stumped on low network speeds
« on: December 10, 2009, 11:16:32 AM »

I've been using the DIR-655/DAP-1522 setup for about 2 months now and with searching through this forum and changing settings I have yet to increase my network transfer speeds.

From my desktop trying to transfer a 4.5GB ISO to my laptop gets me about 3~6MB/s. The laptop is connected via N and speed goes up to 300Mbps (fluctuates to 150-240 at times) in network status.

Transferring files hard wired into the router (both laptop and desktop) gets the same end result.
Transferring files to a computer that are connected to the DAP-1522 (89% signal to the router) get same speeds if not slower at times.

I'm lucky if I get over 10MB/s when first starting the transfer, the speed immediately drops.

Is there something I'm missing, or is there something else going? Really frustrated with these slow speeds.
P.S. Using Cat6 all around.
