Sorry, but your sticky is totally uninformative. Can you explain the steps, because I have done everything and still don't get 300.

If you still cannot get 300 mbps with all the requirements, there is always the possiblity that there is just too much distance, competing AP's or obstacles that will limit a 300 mbps connection. The groundrules of wireless networking still remain leading, even though the N technology has extended the possibilities...

The best I get is 270 and my wireless computer is only 20 feet away from the DIR 655. The TCIPOptimizer does nothing.

270 mbps is the max you will get. Don't ask me why, but I think it has do to with the 2.4 Ghz band. Anyway, the difference between 270 and 300 mbps is not really shocking, considering  all the overhead.

Hi,

My opin here, but I think there is something with some .11N chips and the router that dont get all the way to 300.

I have a couple DLink adapters that say connected at 300 on the pc side at least....but I have a couple other .11N PCMCIA adapters that only say 270 max (RALINK drivers)...same router etc....

The RALink cards run fine, and for $9.99 on ebay....couldn't pass them up.

You have everything set up correctly if you're getting 270 Mps. You might get 300 Mps with a change in router placement.

I get anywhere between 150-300 Mps connection. I did notice when I am downloading something that takes a long time, the speed bumps up to 300Mps. If I'm just surfin', I get lower connection speeds.

I get 300 mpbs using an intel 5300 card, but I had to enable 40 mhz bandwitdth on the laptop as well as auto 20/40 on the router.  It was in the device manager area for the intel 5300 wireless card.  Under advanced tab I think.
