new win7 PC can't see internet through DIR-655
« on: December 16, 2009, 11:03:43 AM »

I recently upgraded my PC from the win7 Beta to RTM.  I connect locally, and now my PC sees 'unidentified network' and nothing past that.  It cannot see the network I have configured.  BUT 2 days ago, it all worked fine.   I tried upgrading the firmware, and I get the same behavior.  Is anyone else seeing similar behaviors?  My other devices work fine (network tuner, and xbox), as well as all devices connected wirelessly (3 other PCs, one XP, one vista, and one win7 RTM, as well as a mac)

thanks

Well I came home from work today and didn't change anything...and now everything works perfectly...I'll update again if (when) things go wonky again.

In all likelihood, this is not caused by the router but your upgrading from beta to RTM Windows 7. That's not official supported by MS and obviously they didn't test that case or didn't test it enough. And even if you installed Windows 7 from scratch what you're getting is likely your windows installation has something wrong. As you didn't change anything on the router besides flashing and you had been able to get to the net with it.

Upgrading from beta or RC to RTM was blocked unless you hack the cversion.ini file on the DVD.
