Settings for Win 7 + Dell Link 1505

this wireless adapter for the latitude is not very good. On my other laptop im getting 270mbps showing, but for this one way less. Does anybody know the best settings for this adapter or a good firmware update. I did an update for this adapter (09/2009 one) and it actually slowed down my computer. I believe is was firmware 5.03 or something along those lines. Any advice would help! thanks :):)
