Netmeeting and DIR-655
« on: December 20, 2009, 06:35:25 PM »

Having problems getting netmeeting working on my dir-655 and was looking for advice.  I've port forwarded all the correct ports for netmeeting (522,389,1503,1720,1731 TCP and 1024-65535 UDP) to 192.168.1.100, a statically assigned desktop.  I've confirmed that the ports are open via portforward.com pfchecker however whenever someone tries to connect they are getting "the other party did not accept your call".  Removing the router from the equation and plugging directly into the cable modem, it works.  Had a Linksys previously and had no problems using the same port forwarding scheme.  Any ideas?  I can place the desktop in the dmz if needed but I'd rather not if I don't need to.

Running firmware 1.32NA

Thanks.

Hi kjweitz,

I found this:

http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows-vista/What-happened-to-NetMeeting

What happened to NetMeeting?

Microsoft NetMeeting is a feature of previous versions of Windows that is not available in this version of Windows. Instead, consider using Windows Meeting Space to collaborate with other people, share documents, and make presentations.

What operating system are you using?

I believe from some of the forum posts that port forwarding can be an issue on 1.32NA. I would trying downloading the latest beta firmware (build 9 I believe is current) or downgrade to 1.31 and see if that fixes your issue.

So you have it setup like this: portforward netmeeting

Myself, I have no problem with netmeeting and the 655 so something in your setup or the person's you are trying to connect to are wrong.
