DWA 160 - Rev A doesn't find any networks

I am brand new to wireless adapters and it was a stretch for me to get my laptop connected to my DLink DI624.  Eventually the DELL 1520 connected.

Now I am trying to install a DWA160 into my boys computer.  I am running windows xp sp2.  I plugged it into the USB2 port.  The DWA160 just blinks orange.  It does not recognize any networks in the area.  My laptop which I am using right next to it recognizes mine and 2 of my neighbors networks.

What am I doing wrong?  I made sure that the security is WPA-Personal, TKIP, and the key is correct, but nothing.

Any ideas?  I really need to have this for Christmas.
