Filezilla Server Can't access 321 share
« on: December 24, 2009, 02:04:47 PM »

I've set up a Filezilla Server on a Windows box so I can have SFTP access to my 321.  The Filezilla server works great if I set my home directory to a folder on the C: drive, but not if I try to set my home directory or map an alias to the NAS share.  My Filezilla client sees nothing on the NAS and gets "550 Can't create directory. Permission denied" if I try to create a new folder using the Filezilla Client.  I've tried mapping a Windows drive to the NAS and using UNC paths for the alias and neither seems to work.  When logged into the Windows box I can access and R/W to the NAS just fine - everything is normal.  I have the NAS set up with wide open security (All users R/W) since it's internal to my network anyway.  I know I must be missing something simple here - any ideas?

how are you running your filezilla? as a service or just start it manually?
if it's a service you have to:
- use unc path to the share
- run a service under specific username (best to create a new one)
- create exact same username on NAS and use exact same password as windows account filezilla runs under.
