easy search software will not load

I have my DNS-321 working on my network inspite of the "easy search"software.  I tried multiple times and methods to load the software, from the provided CD and also from a downloaded version form DLink site. Nothing works. Probably better off without it anyway.
I used the web access url to setup the device. I'm running one 320gig Western Digital drive.
I have a freeware backup program that I used to do a full backup to my storage and then did a windows backup of key files and also setup a weekly routine for those files.  All this works fine without using any of the provided software.
I've also mapped the drive to each pc I'm interested in backups for. I've used the drive as an access point to transfer files across my network.
All this is easy to do and works perfectly for my needs.  Overall a great product.
