since I am not on here that much I wont request more info and will just go with the basics. As with any wireless router I hope you will be using WPA security. So you will have setup a passkey and accordingly setup your XP/vista machine with like key. If all is well your machine should establish a connection at this point. If not then there is a configuration problem with WPA. After this point your machine will obtain is IP address from the router. To verify go to, start, run, then type in cmd. You will be at a command line interface. Type ipconfig /all; browse through the listing to find your wireless card and then you will see if you have an IP address and gateway address. The gateway address is your router and is the path to the internet. Its IP address is usually 192.168.0.1. If you do not have an IP or gateway then there is a configuration problem with DHCP, usually your computer is not setup to automatically get one. IF you do have this information then at the command line see if you can ping the gateway address, you will get 4 replies if successful ( ping 192.168.0.1 ). Next try to ping yahoo or google ( ping www.google.com ). You should also get 4 successful replies. If you do not then you have a configuration problem between the router and your modem. I will end here because I do not know what kind of modem you have, cable modems are usually bridged and DSL modems are usually dynamic. Hopefully you have the modem that acts as a router itself as its much easier to let the modem negotiate with your ISP rather than trying to setup PPPOE through the wireless router.
