Using DIR-655 with a DWL-2100AP in Universal Repeater mode
« on: December 28, 2009, 04:17:36 AM »

About three or four weeks ago, I bought a DWL-2100AP to work as an Universal Repeater to my DIR-655 router. After setting it up, I've had loads of issues, it disconnects very frequently and I've to restart it or reconfigurate it in order get it online again.

It's placed at about 50% strength from the router, the MAC adress and SSID entered are both correct. I've set the security on the DIR-655 to WPA2 "TKIP and AES" and WPA2-PSK on the DWL-2100AP. Since the DWL-2100AP only had settings for 802.11g and 802.11b, I set the 802.11 mode to those two on the router at first, but then I changed it to only 802.11g because it seemed like an improvement.

I'm often stuck at "Identifying network (dlink)" when trying to connect through the repeater. Although right now, it doesn't appear to be working at all.

Does anyone have similiar issues or know a way to fix this?

The hardware version of the router is A2, firmware 1.32NA and the firmware of the DWL-2100AP is 2.50 I think. Any help or suggestions much appreciated.
