DSM-750, Windows 7 Ultimate, WHS, & My Movies
« on: December 29, 2009, 09:34:04 AM »

Thinking of purchasing the DSM-750 so I can stream my videos that are stored out on my WHS (running My Movies Server for WHS).

I'm running Windows 7 Ultimate on two of my networked PC's and Vista Ultimate on the third. My wired network consists of D-Link DIR-655 Gigabit router and three Gigabit DGS-2208 switches. All of my video resides on my WHS, each in it own folder (in DVD format), so there is a Video_TS sub-folder that contains the IFO and VOB files. I also have my Xbox 360 connected to the network.

On each of the PC's I'm running "My Movies for Windows Media Center" so because of this, I'm able to view all of my videos on the TV that is connected to my Xbox when I run it as an extender.

My question is, if I add a DSM-750 to my wired network and use it as an extender, will it interface with one of my Windows 7 machines and utilize the "My Movies" interface on that machine like my Xbox does?

Yes the Extender function is the same as on Xbox360.
