mydlink access help
« on: December 30, 2009, 07:28:40 AM »

Hello All,

Real quick purchased & installed the DCS-1100 at home.  It's viewable when at home but I thought www.mydlink.com was viewable anywhere with an internet connection.  I've tried 3 different locations & keep getting "Unable to access your camera's Live View" when I log into mydlink account.  The kicker is that I can use my wan's ip followed by :80 & access it.  My whole reasoning of purchasing this camera was for the seamless access to www.mydlink.com & not having to configure port fwding etc??  Thanks!!

Which is the model of your router? Does it support UPnP? Have you made sure you are not Double NATed?

Can your router show you connection sessions? If you have a D-Link router, check your Status section.
You will need to find a UPnP entry allowing all nets(with *), access to the IP of the camera. Port 554 is to be allowed as well. Being a UPnP device the router is to allow any given port subsequent to port 80.

Still will not recommend modifying to secondary ports to eventually forward them because that will be the point where the camera won't be access in the 'myDlink' site.

I have the same problem.

Installed the DCS-1130 at home.  It's viewable through www.mydlink.com when at home but I when I try through www.mydlink.com outside my home network I keep getting "Unable to access your camera's Live View" when I log into mydlink account.  The kicker is that I can use my wan's ip followed by :80 & access it. Can someone help?

Thanks.
