2TB hard drive

Hi I have a question regarding a 2TB HD I'm looking to purchase.

Seagate Barracuda LP ST32000542AS 2TB 5900 RPM 32MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s 3.5" Hard Drive -Bare Drive

The list of supported drives does not include this one but I am wondering if that list is for just known drives that work or if that the only list that we all must abide by?

I think this drive is a good deal and just want to know if it is supported or not.

Hey, Just wanted to let you know that I picked up the 2TB drive from Seagate and installed and working just fine with v1.9 firmware. So far no issues.

One good test is to load a file greater than 4Gb onto the drive and copy it to and from the drive on the NAS regularly over a week or two.

After that do  checkdisk on the HDD and see if there is any degradation to the drive.

This is a standard 512byte sector drive and should work fine.  I have a pair of these in a Synology, but I can't imagine why they wouldn't work in the DNS-323.

Purchase is safe. I have the same drive x 2. 4TB standard config. Formatted ext3.
