I recently purchased the DSM-750 and using it as a media lounge with Tversity as the media server.
I can access(Wireless) all my videos, pictures, music, rss feeds and url videos, works great. My only problem is in the Network settings where direct internet conections shows connecting....and then disconnected. I cannot perform any updates...(error: there is a problem with your internet connection, please check your connections).

My router is the DIR-655, security is WPA2 AES.  Is there something I need to do with my router for it to connect to the internet directly?
Is this one of the faulty DSM-750s that I have heard about..??

I know you will probably be insulted by this question, but I have to ask it otherwise I would not be properly troubleshooting the problem with you.... Are there any computers on the router that do have access to the internet and if so what is there IP addresses?

All computers/Laptops (wired and wireless) can access to the internet and LAN (3 wireless and 3 wired). As I stated everything works within the WLAN for the DSM-750 (I can access all my videos, music and photo files) but access to the internet directly gives an error. My ip address was changed to 10.xxx.xxx.1 for the router. All ip configurations are setup correctly.

When used with the Tversity Media Server I can access all Rss feeds and internet Video URLs (Tversity also can access the internet).

Distance may be a factor, how far is the 750 from the main router?
You might even want to lower or disable security to stop the frequent connection drops.
So the DMS -750 drops the connection? if so assign a static IP adress to the unit within the range of the router 10.xxx.xxx.xxx

You might even want to lower or disable security to stop the frequent connection drops.This is not an option, I do not want to do this.

I think this is the only way to receive firmware updates. through a direct connetion to the internet through the router.

I am not aware of any ports on the router that would need to be opened, however if you wanted to you could DMZ the IP of the DSM through the router and see if that helps at all.

Yes I have tried wired and it works (Internet Connection: (Connected).  This only happens in Wireless mode...

Yes it seems there is an odd compatibility issue with some routers connecting wirelessly we are currently looking into this issue. Have you tried this without wireless security? Do you see the same issue?

I tried wired and it connects fine with internet
But when wireless it does not

BTW, my wireless router is DIR-655

Yes that is the issue when connected wirelessly even with our routers. Live365 and other online content should still work fine I just tried Live365 and it works it is just an issue connecting to the update server it seems. Currently there is no update so I am not sure what will happen when one is available at this time.

Thanks for the update ECF.  I hope there will be an update to fix this and that those affected will be able to do the update manually...
