Hi, I just purchased 3 DIR-825's from Fry's.
The units are all hardware rev B1, and came installed with firmware 2.02NA.
I installed the latest 2.05NA firmware before deploying the devices.

One device is used as a router, dhcp disabled, wifi disabled.
The other two units are used as access points, no wan connection, WPA2,  dhcp disabled.

The device that has wifi disabled has no problems.
The two devices with wifi enabled, have the same problem.

When I go to the status page, the page loads, but the header graphics on the page is missing.
If I then click on the wireless sub-menu, I am sometimes taken back to the login page, and sometimes the browser reports a page load error.

I contacted support, first reply was boilerplate, reset and reinstall, and what made me mad was they told me if the problem is caused by disabling DHCP, then re-enable DHCP.

I then found this thread, replied and said others have the same problem, support's reply was just there are no plans for a firmware update.

I can excuse the spelling mistakes in the UI, but this seems like something that should have been caught in testing

I have the same problem as everyone here after upgrading from 2.02 to 2.05.  I just can't believe DLink did see this problem when they create the firmware.  Surely, they must have put this thru some QA before releasing it...  I hope!

Was the router working well before upgrading? Was there a reason for upgrading FW?

I still get the dropped idle TCP/IP connections, like for IRC, with this firmware. Very annoying, after about 3 mins of inactivity, it drops. I have to run firmware 2.02NA, anything above that drops. Haven't seen anything on here seems to fix it for me. :|

Does this firmware fix the problem accepting MAC addresses that don't start with 00?  I'd like to lock-down the router more.  Currently have 2.02NA on B1 hardware.

Yes it does fix that issue.

Also, just another update on my situation. I did a 30 second reset using the pin hole (waited for the power light to turn yellow) from FW 2.02NA prior to upgrading to 2.05NA. It now works flawlessly. No dropped idle TCP/IP connections. \o/ Wish I knew a 30 second reset was all I needed to do. After the reset I didn't touch any settings, just went straight to the FW update page.

FYI, upgraded HW:B1 from 2.02NA to 2.05NA.  Followed the directions in the Zip file precisely (backup config, 2-part firmware upgrade).  Went fine.

When done, I:
* Restored my config (from backup made before upgrade)
* Disabled QoS (upload speed was slow)

Seems like a worthy upgrade!

I didn't bother backing up my config for the FW upgrade. I didn't want any possible 'gremlin' settings being loaded on the new FW after the 30 sec reset.

In term of your upload speed and the QoS, I turned off the Automatic Uplink Measurement setting and manually set it to 4096, which is 1mbps more than the 3mbps mine peaks at. So if you need QoS, trying that might be worth a shot, just keep doubling the uplink if yours is faster. If you don't need QoS then ignore this last bit :p

QoS is mainly meant for 2 or more devices that are online at the same time and competing for bandwidth. This ensures each is getting a fair share of bandwidth and not letting one or the other hog it up.

Can someone verify that they are getting an IPV6 address assigned to their computer with 2.05NA. Because of my work, I am supposed to run the latest, but lost IPV6 via DHCP with 2.05NA. The last time I tried this firmware was in January, kind of hoping I missed something. I sent my issues to Lycan, no response!

What was the previous FW version that was working? I would go back to the last working FW until someone responds to your query.

I switched back to 2.03 after 1 day and then I got busy for 3 months, but now I have a little hole to spend a couple of hours on it. I found with the DIR-655 A4 that the best firmware was older. I was hoping for a better signal and IPV6 support with this new firmware, upon testing I lost IPV6 DHCP (it does NOT automatically issue a IP address to win 7 64 as the old firmware did). I will try another PM. Or maybe I should just buy one of those 1 watt A/P's they are selling on Flea Bay and let the old firmware do its job!

Also, lost a couple of setup screens with the new firmware, could not even setup IPV6 because when I hit the menu I got a "page not available" error.

were you using factory default settings after you updated or did you load a saved configuration file from the last previous save? It's bets to start from scratch sometimes after a FW update as some feature change from version to version.

I do know I backed up my settings, and tried restoring once or twice. It has been 3 months since I tried, but I am pretty sure I tried configuring it from default also, I pretty much spent a whole day on it, 3 months ago. I don't remember doing the 30/30/30 thing though before/after upgrading. I got so used to Actiontec routers always working and if not, there was usually a pretty quick fix (I do NOT have FIOS), I just like their router for the throughput and ease of VPN. Scraped Linksys for their lack of brains and wanting to sell me a 1000 dollar router for a 30x2 line several years back when I purchased a DIR-655 for 125 off the shelf a day later and it handled 30x2 just fine.

That is why I was wondering if anyone had any luck with IPV6 and DHCP with 2.05NA. I am an engineer(RF) and very IT savvy, I am wondering if i overlooked something. So few people use IPV6, they may not even know it is broken....... Even if the manufacturer did, they would NOT tell you, they have all adopted this angle(Linksys is the worst). If it does NOT work, make the end user reformat their hard drive!

The wife and kids will be gone for 3 days, I might try the 30/30/30 thing that I ran into on dd-wrt, though I can't use 3rd party software, I can educate myself to problems others are having.

I was just hoping someone would pop up and say it works fine for me. this is the setting that screws everything up....
