I went back to the Mac store and Futureshop because both techs wanted to know what, if anything, I could find for a fix. Both indicated they had had returns of ATVs and/or routers due to this problem showing up from time to time. I found nobody on the Apple Forums that indicated that setting would be needed for a fix, or here or on DSLReports forum.
Here is what it says in the help section of the Manual,
"Multicast Streams
The router uses the IGMP protocol to support efficient multicasting -- transmission of identical content, such as multimedia, from a source to a number of recipients.
Enable Multicast Streams
This option must be enabled if any applications on the LAN participate in a multicast group. If you have a multimedia LAN application that is not receiving content as expected, try enabling this option."
That's helpful? I am still amazed that manuals and faqs are still written as if the majority of people who buy home routers are going to have any idea what that means. Of course, I should have known that Bonjour needs to have this enabled so my Apple TV will show up in iTunes? It might be good if D-link would post something about checking this in Advanced Settings if connecting such devices in their on-line faqs or maybe even in the manual.
I hope you find your answer yodapower. iPad is on my short list of next purchases.
