Just an update...firmware 1.11 works flawlessly with security enabled.  not sure why that one works.  No wireless restarts whatsoever.  However I do notice that my internet connection is slightly slower.  I'd like to know why 1.21 won't work with security enabled.  Hopefully 1.22 or 1.23 address this issue...it's really the only complaint I have with this router.

Surprisingly I tried enabling security ( I only run a MAC filter  )but I do not have the same restarts. (A2, 1.21). So I cannot answer that one for you.

I have been having the same problems but even after switching to 1.11 it did not fix the problem, after speaking with tech support tonight they said it is a hardware problem and I need to RMA my DIR-655.

I was running A3 with 1.11 & 1.21, worked great for 3 months then started acting up.

I have 2 units - DIR 655 with the same problem of restarts then failure to reconnect.

HW A3
FW 1.10 (shipped with) and 1.11 (upgraded).

It appears that it also has a problem with N mode as g devices do reattach ok, but not N mode.

I have had 1 RMA already to try and fix it, now both are on the blink (2 different locations with different network configs but the same disconnections...).

To change the network ssid and settings all the time is crazy, every now and again, but really that is a big problem if it is being done several times a day,

Dlink is there a solution on the horizon?

I have something that has worked for me so far (over 3 weeks without drops on the computer that I did this to and I had since done it to more devices since)

add static DHCP entrieds for each device that is dropping.  you do this in the DIR-655 itself not via static ips on the computers.
