@FurryNutz No, my tests used to be wireless. I would get about 18-20Mbps DL, 1Mbps UL. Which I thought was pretty impressive. For a wired test, I would need to physically bring my computer downstairs. I've never seen issues like this before. I don't UL or Dl anything and nothing is being updated.
@thecreator I've done a few tests in a row. All about the same, no tests jump over 2Mbps.
The connection to the router is solid. It used to be at about 150, but then followed the guide posted in the sticky to enhance that to 300Mbps.
My friend's computer runs through it, but he just plays games from Steam on there, no biggie. I make sure he constantly runs scans and takes care of his system. I installed the necessary precautions so he can browse the web, worry free, without anything jumping on his system. Besides that, there are 2 PS3's and an XBOX that hooks up to it. I make sure not all 5 are on at once. Although, 2 PS3s and 2 PCs on at the same time are not an issue. My friend and I would play Borderlands while Skyping instead of using Bluetooth to talk (The PS3 is kind of bad for playing games and using Bluetooth).
His computer is wired, mine's wireless.
Our provider is Shaw. It runs through cable.
I'm going to go see if his system is effecting anything. He might have picked up a bug.
