Well well well, I was just about to post a thread with a very similiar issue however it is both my wireless and LAN connections.
It has happened twice now in the past month or so. Where my internet will be working fine and the next stops working and I can not even access my router settings by typing in its IP. I also can not access my modem, (obviously).
The only way I can get it working again is to unplug the power cable and plug in back on and let the router boot up again, after this it is running good again.
Furry, I will try to answer your questions off the top of my head.
What HW version is your router? Don't know
What FW version is currently loaded? 1.21NA
What ISP Service do you have? Cable
What ISP Modem do you have? Cox cable
What ISP Modem make and model do you have? Cisco DPQ-3212
Somethings to try:
Ensure DNS IP addresses are being filled in under Setup/Internet/Manual? Yes
Turn off ALL QoS (DIR only) GameFuel (DGL only and if ON.) options. I am using the sticky game fuel rules
Turn off Advanced DNS Services if you have this option under Setup/Internet/Manual. Already off
Turn on DNS Relay under Setup/Networking. Already off
Setup DHCP reserved IP addresses for all devices on the router. Computer and XBOX's have reserved addresses. WiFi Cell phone and DirectTV do not.
Ensure devices are set to auto obtain an IP address. Already are
Set Firewall settings to Endpoint Independent for TCP and UDP. Already are
What wireless modes are you using? G and N, I use both.
Try single mode G or mixed G and N? No
What security mode are you using? WEP, WPA or WPA2? Preferred is WPA-Personal. WPA2/Auto TPIK and AES. Set to WPA2 and AES
What wireless devices do you have connected? PC (limited use), Wii, and cellphone
Any cordless house phones? Yes, 2.4Ghz band
Any other WiFi routers in the area? One of my neighbors wireless routers show up when I check for wireless devices.
Turn off all anti virus and firewall programs on PC while testing. Testing what? This has happened after playing the xbox and using the internet
Turn off all devices accept for one wired PC while testing. What tests should I be running?
I wonder if I should update the firmware?
