there were a series of units i had suspicions about a long time ago, but your serial doesn't fall in to that range.

Well, that's good to know I guess.

The DIR-655 has a lot of different firmwares.  How come us DGL-4500 owners can't get some too?  Especially to fix some of these issues?  We've all provided lots of feedback, and this last beta was datd from December.  And before that, the 1.15 came out back during the summer almost.  So, we are due for some new things...any word on new updates or heck, even fixes? or even a changelog for this last beta?

Or better yet....

Release the FULL code to GPL so a version of DD-WRT can be written for it.

I don't think it's a matter of the code, but more-so the hardware....

The DGL-4500 is a Ubicom platform. There will never be open source firmware available for it.

Keeping in mind that I don't use the wireless at the moment I'd like to say that this beta fw seems to be working the best for me since 1.02.  The gamefuel and application rules are working correctly for me and internet access seems to be responding faster than with the 1.12 fw I was using.  I did enable the wireless on a schedule of 1 minute but do not use it otherwise.  My kids haven't complained and I never told them about the change which is a good thing.  When I tried 1.15 they were whining right away about how slow the internet was.

Okay...

We still haven't seen a changelog for 1.16.  On top of that, I'm still having HORRIBLE disconnect problems from games.  Ports are forwarded correctly, and STILL lots of issues.  NAT filtering is set to Endpoint Independent, and STILL having connection problems for Warcraft 3, and OTHER games as well.

I've yet to get ANY response on this from you guys.  For stuff that worked WELL on my 4300, when set to Port and Address Restricted as well, this is getting just ridiculous.

So, fix this!  The DIR-655 gets so many firmware updates for those problems, but because you guys can't do proper testing or ANYTHING, we've yet to see 1 single update.  Only this beta which was from BEFORE the New Year.  And BEFORE that, we had 1 update, and that was further back during the summer months of maybe July?

What gives you guys?  Fix ALL of these problems!

From the looks of things as we see in this thread and as we've been told previously, Ubicom seems to be the problem.

D-Link has their hands tied trying to get anything out of Ubicom.

I say that Ubicom ought to be held responsible to fix this and for future Routers D-Link ought to Drop Ubicom like a Hot Potato.

BTW Reinvented.......

It looks like the forum filters failed this time around.  :o  ;D

Finally, some decent news!

I have in the meantime rolled back to the 1.15 code.  Wireless is a bit more stable for me, and I can actually hit my download marks consistently.  I do hope that I can get these things improved on a lot more.  It's an okay product, but after some of these last updates, it's gotten really sloppy and things have gone untested, even with our feedback.

looks as though reinvented has finally had enough?

If it's Ubicom's fault and Dlink knows about it, then how about a new product that works and require us to send in our "defective" dgl-4500s?

Who said it's ubicoms fault?

I don't think they understand exactly what's going on...

They seem to be under the impression that since Ubicom is the holder of the code, that they don't fix it, and release it for the routers of yours...since it's theirs.
