login in page can not be found
« on: January 07, 2012, 07:37:10 AM »

I'll be notified of response to this thread.  Please help; typing 192.168.0.1 just times out when there no internet connection problem.  I can go into my modem settings through.   I don't know when this problem started as I hadn't needed to log into my router in over a year.

I tried resetting it and still can not go to the log in page.  I noticed a few months ago my NAT type went from open to strict on my xbox live but didn't really care at the time.  Can someone walk me through the setting changes that need to be made.

Review the gaming, QoS and Gamefuel sticky for XBL.

What ISP service do you have? Cable or DSL?
What ISP Modem, make and model do you have?
Built in router with the modem? This will cause issues with Open NAT on XBL.

The login page can not be found because the router IP address is incorrect.  The IP address may be changed, you need to find out from the Windows wifi icon STATUS for the correct IP address.  If you forgot about the user name and the password, you may need to reset the router back to the factory default with the press and hold the reset button at the back of the router until all LED turned off.  Then you can use the IP address 192.168.0.1 to login the setup page.

I reviewed the sticky for XBL, but it does me no good till I can login into the D link router and make the changes.

I have DSL w/ AT&T, the modem is a motorolla model 2210-02.   I don't think it's a built in router w/ modem as this problem started within the last 3 months.

Where can I find the Windows wifi icon STATUS for the correct IP address?  I tried to reset the router and held a paper clip in there for over 10 secs and the lights never blink.  Any further suggestions?

First off you need to verify you modem is bridged to the router. I would ask the isp about this. You can find out if the router is getting a private or public, prefered address by looking at the status/device info/ wan section. 192 is private and means ur modem isnt bridged. If u set factory reset on router, log in should be at 192.168.0.1 . This might conflct w the modem as some modems at at the same address to. You can change the routers address to 192.168.1.1.

The modem address is not 192.168.0.1, what do you mean by bridged.  You'll have to elaborate more, as most of these tech support personal are reading off preset cards and have trouble speaking english.  I did try the factory reset but can't tell if it did reset because I can not log into 192.168.0.1.  I can get to the modem through a different IP address so I know there's not a conflict there.

Any suggestions?

There is an icon at the right hand side of the Windows taskbar.  Click on the icon and select the router network, right click the mouse can see the STATUS tab to see the wireless network status, click Detail to see the router IP address.

To reset the router, you need to press and hold the reset button more than 10 second until you see all the LED lights turned off.

It's showing me the same IP address as IPCONFIG, is that the IP's your referring to?  If that's the one it just takes me to the modem not the router emulator.

Maybe someone can review your router settings with you using teamviewer.

Disconnect the router WAN cable from the modem.  Hardwire the router LAN to the computer.  You can see the correct router IP address.
