Surveillance Center - NAS on standby (sleep mode)
« on: March 10, 2013, 12:54:54 PM »

Hi !

As I can see, Surveillance Center avoid the NAS to go on sleep mode (HDs stop to spin).

Is there any solution to avoid it ?
I would like the NAS to start the HDs to spin only if needed (record of an event for example)

Thanks for help !

Are you saying the DNS-325 HDDs are in a constant spin state as long as Surveillance Center is running?

Exactly !

I got a DCS-932L.

When surveillance center is running, and the camera is off, HDs will stop to spin after minuts.

When surveillance center is running, and the camera is on, HDs will never stop to spin even if I'm not recording.

Thanks for your help.

I'll have to test this myself on the DNS-345. I can verify that when Surveillance Center is running with no camera associated, the DNS-345 hibernates the HDDs based on the set idle period, but I'll have to verify the behavior with a DCS-932L enabled.
