D-View Cam Professional license
« on: June 06, 2013, 09:21:38 AM »

I am putting together a home system with 11 cameras. I used the DCS-100 but it doesnt work with the D-ViewCam mobile. On the CD is included the DCS210/20/30 versions which are 30 day trials. However looking online for several days, it appears that the license is only sold in Australia.

Any idea where I can get a license and how much it costs? The DCS-100 wasnt working with the mobile app while the professional version works like a charm.

There is no info anywhere on google regarding license expiry or license pruchase, only an old post from this forum in 2010 inquiring about the same thing. I would appreicate your input.

The objective is to monitor all 11 cameras locally from a PC and remotely through ipad. Any other ipad app requires input of the camera IP individually, with limitations to the number you can add and view simultaneously. The DCS software whether the 100 or the 220 is a server, and the mobile app looks at the server as one item with all cams showing.

Am I missing something? Feedback is appreciated.

I passed this question to D-Link and they are working on an answer. Their initial response indicated that the software is generally not sold in the U.S. for a variety of reasons, but they are looking into a more concrete answer/solution for you. I will get back to you when I have more information.

Someone from D-Link will most likely (at some point) contact you via private message (PM), so please keep an eye on your forum PM box.  ;)

I too am interested in purchasing the D-ViewCam professional software.  Am I correct to understand that it is the only version that supports the Mobile Android streaming app, as well as synchronized multi-camera playback?  thank you.

Despite the great help from forum moderator JavaLawyer and after 30 days with the pro license trial version it expired today.

Fear not. I used blue iris and all works well, motion sensor triggering is even better than dview cam as it knows to exclude repeating motions like a plan waving in the wind, and sensitivity is also set based on size which avoids alerts from insects! Used to get about 100 emails every night with stuff like that.

Anyway, I recommend it. If you have set the dview software properly and know all the config data, along with the blue iris manual (or in software help)it's easy to set up. Took me 3 hrs to configure 11 cameras.
At 50 euro plus the 8 euro mobile app I am thrilled. Also the mobile app works great and has access to alerts and playback. The dview cam pro version would have been in the thousands.

Thank you JavaLawyer for your immediate response and efforts.

Thank you for the kind words. I'll reach out to D-Link and see if there is anything new to report on. In the interim, I'm glad that you found an alternative product that suits your needs.

I have another response from D-Link. D-Link is a large international company, and unfortunately the United States and European Union do not have a SKU setup to offer professional licenses for sale in those two regions. Only D-Link Australia is setup to support purchase of the professional license. I'm told that the simplest solution for you is to contact D-Link Australia directly.

From what I hear, there are plans to offer the professional version for sale in the United States, but there is no ETA.

I hope this helps.  If you do reach out to D-Link Australia, please let us know how things turn out. I'm sorry I couldn't be of more assistance for local support.
