I suppose there could be a hardware conflict. Monday I hope to get the ISP tech to check my connection and settings for clues as to why the router is not acquiring IP addresses. I will ask about unbridging and going the DMZ route. This is a small local ISP that partners with Ntelos.
As for an environmental issue, our cordless phones are the only other radio device in our house and I have tested, but not shown improvement when disabling the phones. No garage door opener, no significant metal structural components, etc. House is a three story and 3,000 sq ft, but while working on this problem the modem, router, and laptop are on same desk. Environmental probably not a significant factor.
