For a while, I thought I had the time jumping ahead by an hour issue fixed with the v1.04b05 firmware, but it kept happening.

Each time it jumped ahead, the log showed this message:

System Time Is Updated By RTC.

I had the timezone, time and ntp server set correctly.  I tried different ntp servers, including the D-Link ones, but the problem kept recurring.

In the end, I reverted back to firmware v1.03, and the time troubles went away.

Have other DNS-325 owners running fw v1.04b05 experienced this time issue?

Actually i just noticed this too. some sort of DST issue maybe?
EDIT: after setting the time manually back to the correct time (it was 1 hour ahead) i looked today and it showed a time update in the log but the time was still set correctly. will continue to watch this.

Edit: I just checked my clock and it is ahead one hour again. the only thing in the log that i noticed is that at
Aug 28 01:30:07 Set System Time.
Aug 28 02:30:06 Set System Time.
Not sure why it set system time twice or what drives that but as far as I can tell it was ok before that but not 100% sure it happended at that time.

I'm testing this new firmware, but I've already noted that its DLNA support is not compatible anymore with my Samsung Smart TV (I've one Samsung Smart TV updated to latest firmware and one Panasonic Viera Smart TV in my home - Panasonic Viera doesn't suffer from this issue). Whenever I go inside the DNS-325 device using the Samsung dlna client, I get a list of all dlna shared folders, but inside each folder there is no file (a pop-up appears saying that folder is empty).
The only choice for me is to revert back to previous 1.03 firmware or to use another testing 1.04 firmware.

Instead, I appreciate the new plugin Transmission, it is better than the integrated torrent app (it can be managed via its transmission client, via a transmission client under Windows or Linux - I use "Transmission Remote GUI" for Windows, and even via a transmission client for smartphones - I use "TorrentToise" for Android).

Hello, could you give me some more information on this plugin Transmission?
Where can I find to download to try it?

Thanks

I also suggest the following russian D-Link page ( http://dlink.ua/dns_addons - translation from russian http://translate.google.com/translate?hl=en&sl=ru&tl=en&u=http%3A%2F%2Fdlink.ua%2Fdns_addons&sandbox=1 ) that contains all addons for DNS-325, some of them are third-parties addons (so we can use them at our own risks).
I am testing some of them (with firmware 1.04b), such as:
1) telnet. Telnet is useful, but it does not require userid and password, so I consider it a security hole.
2) ssh : such as telnet, but at least it uses the secure ssh protocol, requiring userid and password (password must be created at first login).
3) midnight commander. It should be as old Norton Commander, but I am not able to understand how to use it (should it be used inside web manager or inside telnet/ssh???).
4) transmission : an alternate torrent client, just another world if compared with built-in torrent client.
5) mediatomb : an alternate dlna server, still not complete.
6) twonkymedia server : an alternate dlna server, just another world if compared with built-in dlna server. For me it is a pleasant surprise, I confirm it is wonderful and very useful. It is fully supported by so many TVs (I have Samsung and Panasonic TVs, I have no problem with them).

If you want to test other addons, please let us know your opinions. Thanks.

Please keep in mind that firmware or add-ons posted on the official D-Link Russia site are slated for ShareCenters purchased in that region. Although the firmware may in fact be the same version as worldwide (WW) versions, this information has not been validated. So, use with caution.

Basic question:
the file DNS-325_fw_revAll_1-04b05_all_en_20130718.zip downloadable on the D-Link ftp server is for ww release. Why the unpacked firmware file is marked "beta"? Is it a beta release or is it a final release?

regards

I'm testing the SSH add-on, but can not get access using the root account.

Though I have to start the first time without password, I get always message "access denied".

Did I miss a step?

I can't get the Squeezecenter plugin to work with 1.04b05, I've tried both the 2.02 and the 2.03beta.
If i downgrade my firmware to 1.03 both plugins work, but if I upgrade my FW with any of them installed they get removed from the list of installed plugins. I' did a reset but that did'nt help.
The error I get is "Install failed. Please check file." I get the exact same error with the phpmyadmin 1.00 plugin, so I guess none of the plugins work?

Any ideas?

EDIT*
I removed my FFP installation along with the USB and everything went back to normal. Hopefully I don't need it anymore..

Just FYI, I'm running on:
DLINK_DNS325.1.04b05(1.24.1128.2012)(BETA)

and I've found this errors in the log:
Sep 17 03:54:15 dlink-5528CB fan_control: Set Fan Speed To "LOW".
Sep 17 03:54:15 dlink-5528CB fan_control: Fan Is Unable To Spin Or Fan Doesn't Exist.
Sep 17 03:59:18 dlink-5528CB fan_control: Set Fan Speed To "STOP".

So, I just thought I'd let "them" know by posting it here.

While I'm at it, are there docs about the Transmission client anywhere to be found?

Thanks for everyone's time.
