Thanks for the quick reply! Yes, I'm uploading the extracted dcs930l_v109_b2.bin file. I'd been using Chrome, but I just tried it with IE11 and I get the same behavior.

I presume you logged into the web UI from within your LAN using the camera IP address and uploading the firmware from the Maintenance > Firmware Upgrade page? Please log into the web UI and navigate to SETUP > Motion Detection to validate whether (or not) any of the new functionality is present. As an alternative, I personally used Firefox with my DCS-932L (and other DCS models without issue).

Correct.

Only the old motion-detection functionality is present: options to enable, disable, or select image regions.

I'll try Firefox later, but I doubt it'll behave differently from Chrome and IE11, considering that Chrome has worked fine for all my previous wireless firmware upgrades for this webcam.

Recently, users have reported Chrome issues with other D-Link products. I'd give Firefox a try or a pre-IE11 version.

Ok, tried Firefox. Similar behavior: when I click the Upload button, the browser hangs indefinitely with status "Sending request to <IP address>...".

Where are you downloading the file from? Please try mydlink.com/support, which uses a different source file from what I've linked on this thread.

Please let me know if that works. If so, I'll redirect my link as well.

Thanks, but I was already using the firmware from the support site. Also, I just did a bitwise comparison between your link and the support site's version, and they're identical.

I'm running out of options here. . .   :-\

Do you have another PC to attempt the upload from?
Do you have the option of testing a wired connection with one of your cameras?

This is less likely to help, but you can also try saving a Configuration Settings file and resetting the DCS=930L to the factory defaults and re-apply the firmware. This process may impact your existing mydlink registration. There's a soft reset available through the web UI and a hard reset by pressing and holding the recessed Reset button on the rear of the unit for > 9 seconds. I'm baffled as to why this isn't working

Ok, thanks for your efforts! I'll probably just try a wired connection when I have time. If I discover anything more, I'll post it here.

I have same problem as the other person here.
It is impossible to get the firmware 1.09 loaded in my dcs-930L

the current firmware is 1.08

Did a hard reset (press the reset pinhole for 3 sec and relase while power is on)
After that it comes up in dhcp mode.

I have it directly connected to the lan and my pc (winwows 7 ie 11  or latest chrome)
and login to the webcam
Then go to the firmware upload page and select the file dcs930l_v109_b2.bin

and press upload

After that in iexplorer nothing happens i am i wait mode
in chrome i see an upload active from 1 to 100% and  then i get into wait mode and nothing further happens.

after over 5 minutes i swicth of power of device and on again and all is like it was before... no update

Try a different browser: IE earlier than v11 or Firefox.

I had a laptop with iexplorer 9 and used that one to try the update and
It worked with that version.   ::)

Thnx for the help

The the same solution worked with the dcs-923L from which i have 2 and one updated (using chrome even over a wifi connection)
but the other shows the same problem.
i had to use iexploer 9 on this and connect it to the lan.

Anyway problem solved.

By the way, I was never able to upgrade (past 1.08) via WiFi (even though previous WiFi updates worked fine).

However, I did successfully upgrade (to 1.11) by plugging my netcams into my WiFi router via an Ethernet cable. Two of the three cams updated on the first try. The third hung after the FW upload finished (same problem as via WiFi), but succeeded on the second attempt. Windows 7 SP1, Chrome 34.0.1847.131 m.
