I already posted on the Xbox forums, so I will copy and paste:

the nat on my xbone is always goin from open to strict without notice, but it's usually always strict.

 I have tried everything, I even spent 375$ on different routersI. I think it may be my Modem, it is 16 yrs old.

on the Xbox I made a static ip, and on every router I bought I did all the port forwarding, and took Down the firewall.

i had a Cisco e1000, it worked ok, not great, with my 360, still had some issues. So I bought a Cisco e3000, a newer model. It kept going stric as well as it kept dropping signal to all the computers in the house. So I bought a d-linkac1300 dgl 5500, which I'm using now and I still have the same issue, but instead of the computers dropping signal, my gf's xbox is. And the nat still won't stay open.

I still own all 3 pod these routers, if someone could help . I was giving thought to buying a new modem, if you think that a would work.

and yes I connected my Xbox straight to the Modem and the NAT is open. but their are 5 people in my house so I can't hog the Internet.

I have a Motorola modem. Any advice or help at all?

• What region are you located?

Internet Service Provider and Modem Configurations

• What ISP Service do you have? Cable or DSL?
• What ISP Modem Mfr. and model # do you have?
• Is ISP Modem/Service using Dynamic or Static WAN IP addressing?
• What ISP Modem service link speeds UP and Down do you have?
• Check cable between Modem and Router, swap out to be sure. Link> Cat6 is recommended.
• Check ISP MTU requirements, Cable is usually 1500, DSL is around 1492 down to 1472. Call the ISP and ask. Link>Checking MTU Values
• For DSL/PPPoE connections on the router, ensure that "Always ON" option is enabled.

Router and Wired Configurations
Some things to try: - Log into the routers web page at 192.168.0.1. Use IE, Opera or FF to manage the router. Besure to log into the Admin account on the router.

• Turn off ALL QoS or Disable Traffic Shaping (DIR only) GameFuel (DGL only and if ON.) options, Advanced/QoS or Gamefuel. For the DGL-5500, review this for Streamboost information and settings: Furry's DGL-5500 Review
• Turn off Advanced DNS Services if you have this option under Setup/Internet/Manual or under Setup/PARENTAL CONTROL/Set to>None: Static IP or Obtain Automatically From ISP.
• Enable Use Unicasting (compatibility for some ISP DHCP Servers) under Setup/Internet/Manual.
• Turn on DNS Relay  under Setup/Networking. Link>Finding Faster DNS Addresses using Name Bench and input new DNS addresses under Setup/Internet/Manual.
• Setup DHCP reserved IP addresses for all devices ON the router. Setup/Networking. This ensures each devices gets its own IP address when turned on and connected, eliminates IP address conflicts and helps in troubleshooting and maintain consistency for applications that need to connect as well as mapped drives.
• Ensure devices are set to auto obtain an IP address.
• If IPv6 is an option on the router, select Local Connection Only under Setup/IPv6.
• Set Firewall settings to Endpoint Independent for TCP and UDP under Advanced/Firewall. Enable or Disable SPI to test.
• Enable uPnP and Multi-cast Streaming under Advanced/Networking. Disable uPnP for testing Port Forwarding rules. Enable IPv6 Multi-cast Streaming for routers that have a Media Server option. Disable IPv6 Multi-cast Streaming if IPv6 or Media Server is not being used.
• Turn off WISH, and WPS under Advanced.
• WAN Port Speed set to Auto or specific speed? Some newer ISP modems support 1000Mb so manually setting to Gb speeds can be supported by the router. Advanced/Advanced Networking/WAN Port Speed
• Set current Time Zone, Date and Time. Use an NTP Server feature. The DST setting is only needed in the NA region. Tools/Time.

I'm currently not at my house but ill give u what I now.

I have Comcast sable Internet: 25down 5up
Motorola modem. The small black skinny one its over 12yrs old.
My firmware is at the most recent, i know because I checked.
I turned on and off stream boost/ network trafficking.
I did most of the other things as well.
Before I had a 2.4 ghz router only. As soon as I bought dual bands it started happening, that's shouldn't have any effect on anything though,

Let us know what model the ISP modem is. Maybe time for a new modem if its that old. LOL

SB and ABE should be enabled. Others have multiple consoles working on the 5500. Also test the consoles direct LAN wired to the 5500.

I tried a direct LAN to the router, it was still strict, if I reset the router and give it a static ip it works for a good while, but I have to do it every time I turn the Xbox on. But even then, my gf's xbox gets kicked off every 5 minutes.

 I won't be home for another 3 hours though

I'm going out to buy a new modem anyway tonight. The only place open is Walmart, if they have any modems, is their any recommendations for brands?

If you're gonna do a Motorola modem, go with any of the "SurfBoard" models (SB 6141).  I use to have one and it worked great!  Since being forced to switch to VDSL, I no longer can use the Motorola modem

Try disabling "Instant On" power mode and instead use "Energy-Saving" power mode.

WE need to know what ISP service you are using? DSL or Cable?

If cable, we recommend Motorola SB 6 series stand alone modems. Very Good modems!

Just upgraded my modem to the Motorola SB 6141 a few weeks back. I love it woks great with my DGL 5500! Got it at Walmart.

Forgot to mention if you do get a new modem you may have to call your ISP to activate it.Oh and Xbox 360 slims built in wireless sucks if you can go wired to all the consoles. There's a sight I think it's called Cablediscounters.com with really cheap long cables. Consoles just run better wired.

I checked my modem it's a surfboard, I think the numbers were 5101.

I did notice though that my nat is usually always open when my xbone is 192.168.0.106. When it's on automatic it usually tries to get this ip. But if another divorce in the house is using it and the xbone can't get it. It's usually always strict. Sometimes I will get 192.168.0.117 or something , if another device is 106, and its usually always strict.

Oki will try that as soon as I get home, work 10am to 10pm (est) 6days a week.
I'll let you know how it works.
 And thanks for helping. I used to help out on the invisionfree support forums, so I know it can get frustrating at times. But I really do appreciate the help.
