All readers - Do NOT update to 1.11; you WILL be sorry!!!

Read the threads, DLINK has abandoned its customers on this one.  They have locked this version so that downgrade is not possible and the only way to have a working router is to turn off features otherwise be prepared to reset the router at least once per day.

I generally agree. I had no problems at all with this router until the 1.11 firmware upgrade.

I still don't quite understand the silence from D-Link on this one. It's pretty obvious something is horribly wrong. What amazes me is that people that have a DIR-655 experience the same SharePort connection problems as DIR-825 owners do... Not impressed by the lack of QA. The problems obviously go beyond SharePort.
I'm thinking of calling them up and offering project management 101 consulting to those guys. Someone dropped the ball and good business is to acknowledge the issue.

Not only the shareport issues but the freezes too.  I fixed my 655 by buying a 825 thats running 1.01.  Its a great router running 1.01, I am not making the same mistake I made with the 655.

I'm there with you. They want me to call them and troubleshoot the issue. Ok, I'll do that.
We will request you to speak with a live technician who will assist you in troubleshooting this issue. Please call technical support at 877-45D-Link (877-453-5465). Technical support is available 24/7 to serve your needs.

I have to tell you, I will not keep this router. I can't even use the N anymore without if locking up. Apple backup no longer works on wireless and the wired is much slower now. I went back to linksys but I do want a new router. I'm moving to a new house and I want this resolved.
