Hi, Given you do not sound like a techy guy, probably the easiest way to go would be just to try and use your Dlink as an access point or AP. The first thing you should try to do is go in to the DCP3939 and try to figure out the IP range. This might be something like 10.0.0.2 to 10.0.0.254, that is the max anyway. If it is smaller, fine, just pick an IP just outside of that but in the same range. If they give you the entire range as above, just shorten it a bit by making it 10.0.0.2 to 10.0.0.250 and later assign 10.0.0.251 as the IP of your Dlink. Then disable the wireless on the DCP3939. That is about all you need to change on the DPC3939. The next thing to do is basically turn your Dlink into just a wireless AP but you also should remember to assign the Dlink that IP from before 10.0.0.251 and then you turn off a bunch of stuff in the Dlink.

The above link will give you pretty clear instructions on how to do it. Then just run an ethernet cord between a LAN port on the DPC3939 to a LAN port on the Dlink, not the WAN PORT. Power everything up, and see if you can find and get to your networked stuff. There are other ways to use the Dlink but I think this is the simplest and gets you the benefit of the dual band AC and range on the Dlink. Good luck
