Well, this was a
complete bust. Aside from
no fixes for the issues I documented
here, and
here (might actually be fixed, but I can't get any speeds over 5Mbps, so no way to test fully), and the fact once the firmware is updated it's impossible to go back into the router setup without unplugging the power or using the reset button - now I have to contend with severely lowered internet speeds.
I'm on a 30/5 connection with Time Warner. I wire directly from my cable modem to my PC, I get my advertised speeds. After installing this new firmware - I get ~5Mbps down. And that's on
every device I have, wired OR wireless.
I go back to a fresh install of firmware 1.11b03, all speeds are fine and normal.
How is it possible that this router actually gets worse with each firmware release?
**EDIT**
I tried disabling Streamboost, no change in internet speeds. Download speeds are still ~5Mbps across
ALL wired and wireless devices. Upload speeds and ping are absolutely fine.
**EDIT2**
Did another fresh install and now get this - before I complete the initial router setup, speeds are perfect. Once I get past Step 2: StreamBoost Auto Updates, then speeds tank. I go back a page, and they're fine again. WTF?
This is absolutely ridiculous.
**EDIT3**
Also having the same issues that dyvurcz (above) and djid10t (below) are having. I noticed the date on the firmware is listed as June 3, 2014. Is this correct? Is this an old beta or something? Because this is an entire step back IMO.
**EDIT4**
The Priorities page is semi-broken as well. You can drag and drop, but after moving a few devices the icons start stacking up on one another, so you have to save, then go back in and do more changes. This is both in IE and Chrome. And it happens if you drag and drop, or use the arrows to prioritize.
I'm done at this point. I've spent the better part of two hours trying to get the router to work correctly after this new firmware, and I'm no closer to getting it working the way it
should be working than I was when I first installed 1.12b05 earlier tonight. This is absolutely pathetic. There is no way this firmware was tested sufficiently enough, or should have been released in this state.
