New Firmware 1.12B05 OUT NOW FOR U.S
« on: June 24, 2014, 11:33:38 AM »

Get it here:
http://forums.dlink.com/index.php?topic=59698.0

Let us know how it works for you.

Ok, some info I got from D-Link.

1. Do not worry about the log entries being seeing. There apart of the FW and seem to be as designed.

2. We'd like users to post captures of the routers detected reported speed results and speedtest.net result using a browser as well for comparison. I'll be doing this again as well. There maybe a process issues where we need to wait a bit longer for the on board test to complete before adding devices and maybe causing some interruptions in it's testing. I recommend turning off all devices accept for one wired PC and let the router do it's thing for about 10-15 minutes after doing a factory reset. The speed test should complete and should report detected speeds to what your paying for. Please report any differences seen in the router and from speedtest.net and differences with SB and ABE disabled. Post pics please.

3. Duplicate devices may need some time also for SB to recognize the devices and process them correctly. So once you've added the devices and assign them a reserved IP address, give some time for the router to settle in and adjust. Try a couple of hours to maybe over night then come back the next morning and check. D-Link is going to review this issue as well.

4. Users are recommended not to load this version of FW unless you want to delve into tinkering with it. If your current loaded version of FW is working, keep it for now. v1.12 B03 Beta works well:http://forums.dlink.com/index.php?topic=58723.0

Thank you.

so far only issue I'm having with the new fw is every time I save a setting and it reboots I can't get back into the router from the 192 address.  I have to pull the power cable for it to allow me back in.  Is there another way to access the page?

Well, this was a complete bust. Aside from no fixes for the issues I documented here, and here (might actually be fixed, but I can't get any speeds over 5Mbps, so no way to test fully), and the fact once the firmware is updated it's impossible to go back into the router setup without unplugging the power or using the reset button - now I have to contend with severely lowered internet speeds.

I'm on a 30/5 connection with Time Warner. I wire directly from my cable modem to my PC, I get my advertised speeds. After installing this new firmware - I get ~5Mbps down. And that's on every device I have, wired OR wireless.

I go back to a fresh install of firmware 1.11b03, all speeds are fine and normal.

How is it possible that this router actually gets worse with each firmware release?

**EDIT**
I tried disabling Streamboost, no change in internet speeds. Download speeds are still ~5Mbps across ALL wired and wireless devices. Upload speeds and ping are absolutely fine.

**EDIT2**
Did another fresh install and now get this - before I complete the initial router setup, speeds are perfect. Once I get past Step 2: StreamBoost Auto Updates, then speeds tank. I go back a page, and they're fine again. WTF?

This is absolutely ridiculous.

**EDIT3**
Also having the same issues that dyvurcz (above) and djid10t (below) are having. I noticed the date on the firmware is listed as June 3, 2014. Is this correct? Is this an old beta or something? Because this is an entire step back IMO.

**EDIT4**
The Priorities page is semi-broken as well. You can drag and drop, but after moving a few devices the icons start stacking up on one another, so you have to save, then go back in and do more changes. This is both in IE and Chrome. And it happens if you drag and drop, or use the arrows to prioritize.

I'm done at this point. I've spent the better part of two hours trying to get the router to work correctly after this new firmware, and I'm no closer to getting it working the way it should be working than I was when I first installed 1.12b05 earlier tonight. This is absolutely pathetic. There is no way this firmware was tested sufficiently enough, or should have been released in this state.

I'm seeing the same thing.
I think it's Streamboost updating and adjusting.
If you turn off sb they go away.
Im also noticing for every device in sb has a clone?
I have 5 devices yet sb thinks I have 10!
I spent hours tinkering with it I'm spent.
I think it's just sb readjusting though.

I see the duplicate devices as well, but not on every device. If you watch only one has activity.  I hope this is just a beta.....

Also, I have notice with the last 2 releases I cannot access my router remotely.  I can log in but then IE and Chrome just spin and spin getting nothing but the black back ground.

I am just now able to get into the router remotely.  It is slow, and I have to refresh a lot.

Are you doing a factory reset, load FW, factory reset and setting up from scratch? Funny I'm not seeing all these issues.

The only issue I have seen is that you need to disable ABE and manually input your ISP UP and Down links. Try setting a 30.00/3.00 value for your router and test again.

When you are testing speeds are any other devices connected or streaming?

Well, this was a complete bust. Was a factory reset performed, FW loaded, then reset once again then set up from scratch? Did you load any saved router config files? What browser are you using?

I've been using my Mac and Safari and haven't seen any of these issues.

Well, after 2+ hours of messing around with it, then just giving up and coming back to it 8 hours later... Whatever the issue was, it righted itself.

Speeds are back to normal, and it looks like my original issues with speeds (here, and here) have been fixed.

Furry - I followed your steps to the letter. Three times. Each time the same result. Normal speeds before initial setup was completed, then slowed speeds once initial setup was completed. Normal speeds at all times on 1.11b03.

I'm fairly sure it has to do with Streamboost, and it's initial configuration, but as you can see above whatever time it took cleared almost everything up.

If I feel like messing around with it again tonight, I might try it again to replicate. But to be honest, it's working mostly great right now, and I don't want to take that risk.
