I updated my firmware a few days ago on my three 6010 cameras and have had nothing but trouble.  The cameras do not maintain a connection with my network for more than 24 hours.  Sometimes I can establish a connection by unplugging the camera at the wall, but most of the time I have to disconnect the power at the camera.  This has occurred EVERY day since I updated to 1.10.01.

I was very pleased with the previous firmware because the issues with the camera were fixed.  Now it is worse than ever.

VERY FRUSTRATING. >:(

What region are you located?

What was the reason for upgrading FW? Was there a problem with the cameras?

How was the upgrade performed? On a wired connection or wireless?

  • What wireless modes are you using on the main host router?
  • 2.4Ghz Routers only: Try single mode G or N or mixed G and N?
  • Channel Width set for Auto 20/40Mhz or try 20Mhz only.
  • Try setting a manual Channel to a open or unused channel. 1, 6 or 11. 11 for single mode N if the channel is clear. 13 for EU regions.
  • What security mode are you using? Preferred security is WPA-Personal. WPA2/AES Only. Some WiFi adapters don't support AES, so you might want to try TPIK only or Auto TPIK and AES.
  • What wireless devices do you have connected?
  • Ensure any devices with WiFi adapter drivers are updated.
  • Any 2.4Ghz or 5Ghz cordless house phones or WiFi APs near by?
  • Any other WiFi routers in the area? Link> Use InSSIDer to find out. How many? Use v3, its free.

What was the reason for upgrading FW?
I received notification through the mydlink app that the firmware needed to be updated.

Was there a problem with the cameras?
The cameras had no problems prior to the update.

How was the upgrade performed? On a wired connection or wireless?
The update was installed over a wired connection

I have all my caneras wired and do not use the wireless connections.

Try a factory reset of one of the cameras, set up from scratch and see how it does.

I recommend using Reserved IP addresses for the cameras set ON the main host router or use a static IP address ON the cameras thats outside of the main routers DHCP IP address pool.

Can you describe the problems are you having after the FW update?

I have a static ip for each camera.

The cameras will not maintain a connection to my home network (including a DNR-322L network recorder, or direct connection from a computer to the ip, or a connection through the myDlink app).  The connection will last no more than 24 hours now.

Camera 1 - reconnected around 10 AM and is now off-line (6 PM).
Camera 2 - reconnected at 10 AM and went off-line around 2 PM.
Camera 3 - was connected at 10 AM and is still online.

I don't suppose there is someway to go back to the previous firmware?

If I reset one of the cameras, I will have to reconfigure my unique settings (like motion detection and event setup)?

What Mfr and Model router do you have?

What happens if you switch one Camera from Static to Dynamic DHCP on the main host router.

The symptom of loosing connection, even with the DNS would be symptomatic of a problem of the router or something not configured correctly or a conflict on the network that is causing the collapse of the network.

You may need to reset the router and one camera. Turn off ALL other devices and set up the router using default settings and minimal configuration and then set up one Camera using DHCP IP addressing and see how the Camera operates over a period of time. See if the problem continues.

Try the Camera at a different location with a different router.
Try a different router at your main location and see if the problem continues.

Check all of your cabling. Swap out. Cat6 is recommended.

I do appreciate the recommendations, BUT I have to emphasize the cameras were working properly prior to the 1.10 firmware update.  The amount of time this will take is frustrating especially considering the cost of the cameras; I paid move for a better camera thinking I would avoid issues.  (I have a D-Link router and D-Link switches.)

I will experiment with the setup.

Just trying to make sure where the problem maybe is all. I agree that this maybe a FW issue if it was call working before. However you mentioned that your DNS is experiencing problems now. This leads me to thing there maybe a different problem else where which may have been hidden until FW was updated on the Cameras.

What model router do you have?

One idea would be to take 1 camera and download the last version of FW and do a factory reset on the camera, manually load the last FW version and do one more factory reset and set up the Camera and test...I think you can load a prior version of FW.

My router is DIR-655 running FW 1.21.  I use the wired ports to connect the cameras.

Try the suggestions and see. The router FW is a bit out of date however I don't think upgrading FW is needed at this time.

Keep us posted.

Right, I never updated the router FW for fear I may have to reset it and I have so many settings on it, it is not worth the risk.

I will let you know what happens with the cameras.

Do a current save router configuration to file now before starting any testing or resetting. At least you'll have your current settings backed up.

thanks jrblack100,  I will hold my firmware upgrade as I only have access to 6010L every quarter.
But my interest on the firmware is the "scheduled reboot", have you tried this option in 6010L?

Had upgraded the firmware to v1.10 last December but encountered many problems in  DIR-636L wireless router (v1.05) in detecting it.  Moreso, the LED indicator blinks after a few minutes or so after upgrade.  Tried to factory reset it but now the wizard (v1.04) can't detect my camera "wirelessly" either WPS or wireless router detection.  It's IP is in reserved DHCP list.  The only option I used is cable connection which I was able to detect the camera and logged/registered in myDlink account.  However, after sometime, disconnection occurs.  Many times myDlink+ indicates that it's down.  Tried to ping it and many request time out occurs.  The same goes with DIR-655 and DI-624+.  I've lost all options so I reverted back to 1.01.18 and the above problems didn't occur at all.  What seems wrong in this version?  I was hoping that the greenish display would be resolved which is still occurring in 1.01.18.  Any workaround?  Please!!!  Didn't encounter these upgrade problems in DNS-320L, DCS-1130L, DCS-5222LB1 and DCS-942L :(
