Author Topic: Suddenly cannot view live camera feeds on Chrome or Firefox after Java Update  (Read 128606 times)

This morning I updated Java to Version 8 Update 31... Since then, I cannot view my DLink Camera feeds.... (it just shows the "loading" spinning ring and a box saying "retry" below it). When I go to MyDlink App on my android phone, I can see the camera feeds fine.

I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the Java programs, but still no feed. I also cannot view in Firefox browser.

Any ideas on what I need to reload/reconfigure?

Thanks for any help in advance..  - Rick

Did you set up the security exceptions again and add mydlink to the java list?

How about adding the LAN IP address of the cameras as well, if your on the LAN side of the router.

Be sure you clear any browser caches and ensure that the java plug in is fully enabled. Only thing I might think of is that MyDlink has been fully updated to support the most recent version of java.  ???

Looks like I have the same problem, immediate after updating Java to Version 8 update 31.  No backward path here that I can see.
Works fine on the myDlink iPhone app and cameras are all visible with Live Cam Pro app, just can't access them with the myDlink PC program.

PC Web Browser Configurations
If IE 8, 9, 10 or 11, set compatibility mode and test again.
Disable any security browser Add-ons like No Script and Ad-Block or configure them to allow All Pages when connected to the router.
Clear all browser caches.

Try turning off these features in Chrome:
Top right corner, little bars for options > Settings > Settings (on left) > Show advanced settings.
Uncheck these:
Use a web service to help resolve navigation errors
Use a prediction service to help complete searches and URLs typed in the address bar
Predict network actions to improve page load performance
Enable phishing and malware protection

mydlink.com Supported Browsers
Internet Explorer 7 or higher (32-bit) - Add mydlink.com to the "Compatibility View" exceptions list.
Firefox 12 or higher
Chrome 20 or higher
Safari 6 or higher (Mac OS only)

Checked all 3 browsers (Chrome, Firefox, and IE (11.0.15)), and made the changes you noted... Tried accessing mydlink.com using all browsers, and same result. The "Dlink Java application.." window pops up for a second, than disappears.. then it looks like its loading, but get the "loading" spinning hub, with the "retry" button under it...

should I try uninstalling mydlink from my PC and reinstalling?

MDL is not a application that you can install or uninstall, it's web based.

You might close all browsers, uninstall Java then reinstall Java and see. Have Java reset all security settings and have it ask you to re-add any exceptions again...

I've sent D-link a PM about this...

I'll give that a shot... What I was referring to was the app to install cams... I have another app called IP viewer and it can see the cams fine... so something's mucked up in my internet/browser settings (or the Java)..

I'll post once I reinstall Java.. APPRECIATE your guidance!

I don't think the cams are messed up as you can access them correctly with your mobil app. Java it self or Java may have messed up the browsers. I'll update one of my PCs at home and see what happens with my 933L.
