Till last Friday I had a pretty stable home network (Time Warner Cable modem / D-Link DIR-655 router). We were streaming Netflix on our Samsung BD-P6500; pulling songs from Rhapsody thru Sonos; accessing Internet content thru HP Media Smart Windows Media Extender....everything was working great.
Then, I decided to get LG BD-390 blu ray player for our upstairs media center. That's when the story took a bad turn. The LG would succesfully connect to the network but wouldn't pull any content from either Netflix or YouTube. Somehow sensing the router to be the problem, I directly connected LG to my cable modem - voila, LG started working just fine. Well, at least now I knew where the problem lied. I went ahead the downloaded and installed the latest firmware (1.31). Big mistake - LG still wouldn't work, but neither would Sonos or Samsung player or any other network connected device.
After several attempts at restarting / rebooting everything, I decided to give the final beta version of the firmware a try (1.32 I believe). As far as I could tell, my status remained unchanged (as a side benefit though, the horrible CAPTCHA was gone from the router admin screen, which was a relief in itself).
So that's where we are - the home network is still strong but no luck with Internet access for Sonos, LG or Samsung.
Any ideas (other than replacing the router, which I am seriously considering)?
