I'll stop the video playback and the continuous PING, to test overnight.

Is the IP address intact? Do a ipconfig in Command Prompt and check Wi-fi status, after it drops out.

All power saving is switched off, in windows and the adapter individually.  I'll check the ip etc next time it drops.  Trying a new router now, will post back.

This modem is the Huawei HG659.  I'm a little limited as to which modems i can try as im on a VDSL2 100/40 FTTN connection, comaptibility isn't the highest.  I can try 5Ghz with this model though.

So my Windows 10 still had the 192 connected.
I've switch over to Windows 7x64 and now testing. Will leave it run and see what I find out later on tonight and tomorrow.

So I check the adapter right before going to bed, it was still ON and connected will in Windows 7. I ensured all PM features were disabled and re-installed the drivers to be sure. I'll recheck after work today, err after movie. New movie releases to day. Woo Hoo.  ;D

Alright, my DWA-192 has been up for 1day and 1 hour on 5Ghz. Its been connected to a 880L with smart connect disabled and powered through USB 3.0.

I'm leaning towards a hardware defect or wireless interference on your side, imcloughy11.

Ok so I got home today and the 192 is still connected in Windows 7x64. Hasn't disappeared. Going to put the 890L back online and test.

Was getting drop outs still with new modem, and took it with me to my daughters house and still having issues.  I'll send the thing back for RMA and see if i have any luck with the new one, or just start drilling holes and running cables.  Thanks for all your time guys.

Ok, lets try an RMA.

I just put my 890L online. Aside the fact that the adapter disappeared during the transition of turning OFF the radios on one router and powering ON the 890L. I had to unplug the 192 and back in to get the adapter to appear. It's connected now and will see how it goes.

Keep us posted on the RMA.

No adapter disappearing while in Windows 7x64 this morning. The blue LED was solid however no IP address seen for IPCONFIG /all. This is with the 890L. I disabled the USB adapter then re-enabled it to get the adapter to re-appear in Windows to simulate pulling the usb plug in and out.

Going to check Windows 10 and come back tomorrow.  ::)

Left 192 connected to 890L while in Windows 10. Still connected.

I'm wondering if my Windows 7x64, DWA-192 and DIR-890L are having issues.  :-\ The only PC configuration that seems affected. The adapter disappears from Windows 7x64 while connected to the 890L. I didn't see this happen with a non-D-Link wifi router.  :o

Is that the beta 890L?

I have had my 192 connected to a 890L many times on Windows 7 before I switched to a 880L. I know a colleague and he has used the 192 with no issues with a 890L as the main router on Windows 7. However, we do not use "smart connect".

192 has been connected solid on my Windows 10x64 partition on my PC since turning OFF all PM features though. Odd that Windows 7x64 disappears from the networking list. It's solid when I'm using it though. IOnly seems to happen when connected to the 890L

I presume it's this beta 890L I have as when I tested a non-D-Link router with the 192. Didn't see any drops or dis-connects.  ;) I'll put my 880L back online and re-test for posterity.

Hi all. I have had similar issues to the OP and have a similar setup, situation and region. My 192 was dropping out every 30 seconds unless I was downloading something. I went into the device manager, USB Root Hub (xHCI) and unchecked the box 'allow this computer to turn off device to save power' in the power management tab. I now have a sustained connection for the past 2 hours

Thanks for posting and confirming. Also uncheck any PM features for the adapter itself in networking.
